This restaurant review editorial packet was a project for my cartooning class. We were told to make this as if we had been hired by a newspaper or magazine for their restaurant review issue, including a cover, a related interior spot illustration, and some hand lettered type for the title.
I made my project off of the theme of new and trendy businesses driving out older and more local businesses due to social media and spectacle. I had considered a space theme as I am a Houston local, however this felt like it had a stronger impact. I chose the limited palette based on ketchup and mustard, to fit with the hotdog motif and make the image more contrasting.
